Local Storage Only

  • All bookmarks are stored locally in your browser's storage
  • No data is transmitted to external servers
  • No account creation or login required
  • No tracking of your browsing habits

What Data We Store Locally

  • Bookmarked text content
  • Website URLs and hostnames
  • Bookmark metadata (titles, timestamps, importance levels)
  • User preferences and settings

Data Security

Your data is protected by your browser's built-in security features. Since all data stays on your device, it's protected by the same security measures as your other local files.

Browser Storage Security

  • Data is encrypted using your browser's storage APIs
  • Access is limited to the Scrollport extension only
  • Data persists across browser sessions but is device-specific

Data Sharing

We do NOT share your data with anyone.

Export Functionality

When you export bookmarks to PDF, Word, or Markdown:

  • Export happens locally on your device
  • No data is sent to external services
  • You have full control over exported files
  • Exported files contain only the data you choose to export

Storage

To save your bookmarks locally in your browser.

Active Tab & Scripting

To interact with the current webpage for text selection and inject the bookmarking interface.

Context Menus

To add the "Add to Scrollport" option when right-clicking selected text.

All permissions are used solely for the extension's core functionality and are never used for tracking or data collection.

Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time:

  • Delete individual bookmarks through the extension interface
  • Clear all bookmarks with the "Clear" button
  • Uninstall the extension to remove all data
  • Clear browser data through Chrome settings
